Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spiky blonde hair and a pumped up personality reveals easy methods to master and removes anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and environment. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Early on, while growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." I just couldn't get enough out of the experience. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy, she developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine and its culture. This will have a significant impact on how Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children who are facing obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she advocates for juvenile diabetes awareness. She has been a frequent presenter at conferences, and she travels throughout the United States in her mentorship role. Anne was always grateful that she was able to share her passion of cooking with others.
