Between 2014 and 2018, she played as Sofia Rodriguez in the ABC Family/Freeform sitcom Young & Hungry and Young & Foodies. She performed the role of the character of Adora/She Ra in DreamWorks her animated series, She-Ra And The Princesses of Power on Netflix between 2018 and the year 2020. In November 2015, Carrero got engaged to actor Tim Rock and the two were married in August. Disney's Elena of Avalor as well as Sofia the First spin-offs feature Carrero as Princess Elena.
